Product Description

In Nepal, 7 species of Padamchal (Rheum) are available but the most commonly traded species is Rheum australe. Normal height of the padamchal is around 1 meter. It has long stems and grows yellow flowers in late spring-summer and sports red stems with large greenish red, heart-shaped leaves. Rhubarb contains several chemicals which might help heal cold sores.

Parts Used : Roots, leaves, rhizomes.

Availability : 3200 to 4200 meter.

Collection period : November to December.

Uses : Primarily for digestive complaints including constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach pain, gastrointestinal (Gl) bleeding. Rhubarb is sometimes applied to the skin to treat cold sores.
